An avid gardener for thirty years, Julia Barkley found inspiration for her first book in a unique looking tomato she harvested one year. Inspired by her grandchildren to turn Terrance’s adventures into a book, she took a step into the publishing world. Having spent twenty-five years as a speech and language assistant in an elementary school, Julia hopes that her book brings delight to children of all ages.
Julia lives with her husband, Doug, and their two dogs in the country near Morden, Manitoba. They have two grown children and four grandchildren. Fortunately for her fans, she hasn’t discounted the possibility of a second book!
ABOUT THE BOOK
Terrance the Tomato
A note from the author:
Terrance is a tomato that grew in our garden last year. He came from a six pack of heirloom tomatoes that we bought at a local greenhouse. He was a knife stroke away from becoming salsa when I realized he had a face! His personality was staring right at me, so I thought he could keep me company for a while and I could show him what humans do for fun. He was a great sport, and together we created some special memories. Terrance was the most wonderful tomato, and I hope that you enjoy getting to know him through these pages as much as we did!
